ADC at a glance
African Development Choices (ADC) is a UK-based start-up and social enterprise, which focuses on reducing poverty in Africa by increasing access to essential services such as; clean water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH).
We achieve our goal by developing resources and strategies which help mobilize local communities and leaders to make more informed choices in the management of public finances. Our ultimate aim is to empower them to meet their needs independently.
We believe that aid is not a substitute for a dysfunctional system – it is a tool to help build self-sufficiency. By setting new precedents and helping communities raise their expectations, we increase their participation and lead to a real, lasting, systemic change.
Our Approach
Everything we do is aimed at reducing poverty by increasing access to essential services for all. We achieve this using our innovative and sustainable approach.

We set new precedents for using public resources and delivering essential services through our community projects.
2. Raise expectations
We provide experience, education and support, encouraging communities to expect more from public resources.
3. Promote participation
We empower communities to play an active and independent role in the key decision-making processes that affect them.
